The process
-
Start with the outcome
Tell me what you want to achieve, what you use today and what gets in the way. You do not need to choose a technology or a service package first. A few sentences are enough to begin the discussion.
For a Shopify feature, that might be what a customer must be able to do. For tracking, it might be a missing purchase or an unexplained difference between reports. For an integration, it might be the information your team currently copies by hand.
If a guide already covers your problem, I’ll point you to it — solving it yourself is a good result.

Agree the scope before the work
We define the deliverables, acceptance criteria and price before implementation. Timing and project terms are agreed separately in writing. A clear task can go straight to an implementation quote. If the cause or scope needs investigation, we can agree a separate diagnostic engagement.
The published price catalogue explains the options: a Focused Fix, a Custom Engineering Project or a Technical Partnership, plus the standalone Tracking Health Check and Technical Working Session. These are different ways to work, not mandatory stages of one purchase.
-
Build and verify against the task
The verification follows the agreed outcome. A shipping rule needs cart and destination scenarios. An integration needs checks of the source data, mapping, delivery and failure behavior. A tracking change needs evidence that the agreed events travel through the intended path.
We agree what successful delivery means, and which limitations or unknowns remain. An illustration or a dashboard screenshot alone is not verification.
-
Hand over a usable result
I implement the solution, check it against the agreed criteria and document how to use it. The project scope defines what is handed over and how acceptance works.
Defects in a delivered implementation, within the original scope, are fixed free for 30 days after acceptance. New requirements, third-party changes and unrelated problems are separate scope. See the full pricing and engagement terms.
For tracking work: evidence before changes
Tracking diagnosis has its own method. Where the agreed task is to investigate measurement, a read-only Health Check compares the available event and order evidence without changing the pipeline during the investigation. The Shopify tracking audit checklist explains what each check proves and what it leaves unknown.
Shopify’s order ledger is the reference. GA4 purchase events can be matched on transaction_id. Browser and server-side Meta events can be checked for deduplication on event_id; Meta does not expose an order-level revenue export. Google Ads often requires an aggregate comparison or evidence from the conversion uploads you control.
The report separates confirmed defects, normal differences and unconfirmed hypotheses. If a platform only supports an aggregate comparison, that limit is stated. Different attribution systems are not expected to produce identical totals.
A diagnosis is a standalone purchase. If related implementation follows, its quote shows the research already done and the new work separately; a repeated stage is never charged twice.
How it works
For ongoing work: a defined area and capacity
Scope & pricingTask for Daniel
A Technical Partnership provides 8 engineering hours a month within an agreed area, one active task at a time. Extra work happens only after agreement. Unused time does not carry over; this is reserved capacity, with no 24/7 or emergency response. Software subscriptions are separate purchases where needed.
