AI Shopping Readiness Check for Shopify
Twelve checks of what AI crawlers and shopping agents can read on your store, and whether your tags can see the orders they bring. No score and no ranking promise: each row says what the public storefront shows and what to do next.
- Never pretends to be an AI bot
- Obeys your robots.txt
- Stores nothing about your store
What it reads
Twelve rows, one question each.
Every row is answered from public pages only. Where the answer lives in your admin, the row says Cannot tell.
Spec sheet

Storefront access

How it reads your store
One honest client, by your rules.
The check reads what any visitor could read, and stops where your robots.txt says so.
-
It says who it is
Every request carries the token TaskForDanielCheck/1.0 and a link to this site. It never sends an AI crawler’s name, never rotates IPs and does not retry after a block.
-
It obeys your robots.txt
After the home page, every path is checked against your robots.txt rules for all clients. A disallowed path is not fetched, and its row says Not read.
-
It stays small
About 14 requests per run, at most 6 at a time, within 10 seconds. One AI check counts as two of the ten checks allowed per minute from one connection.
-
It keeps nothing
The result stays in memory for 10 minutes, then it is gone. Logs never carry the store’s address.
What this check cannot see.
- The Sales channels > Agentic toggles: Catalog access, Direct checkout and Auto enroll.
- Shopify Catalog eligibility, and the status of Google Merchant Center or Google & YouTube.
- Whether any AI channel actually sells.
- The AI-checkout orders themselves.
- GA4 settings, including the AI Assistant channel and custom channel groups.
- Webhook or server-side pipelines.
- Consent behaviour.
- How your network treats verified AI crawlers.
Stamps What each stamp means.
- Clear What the outside shows is in order.
- Review Worth a look. It may be a choice you made.
- Fix Something is missing or blocked.
- Cannot tell The answer lives in your admin, your CDN or your analytics.
- Not read The request was disallowed by robots.txt or did not answer in time.
- Info Shown for information.
- Not applicable Does not apply to this platform.
Questions
Is this a visibility or ranking score?
No. It is not a visibility or ranking score, and it predicts nothing about AI recommendations. It shows what the public storefront tells crawlers and agents.
Will fixing the rows get my products into ChatGPT?
Nobody can promise that. Shopify adds eligible products to its Catalog for the AI channels by itself, and the channel settings live in Shopify admin under Sales channels > Agentic, which this check cannot see.
Why do some rows say Cannot tell?
Some answers only exist inside Shopify admin, your CDN or GA4. The check marks them Cannot tell instead of guessing.
Does it pretend to be ChatGPT or Googlebot?
No. It sends no AI crawler’s name and uses no AI operator’s network, so how your store treats verified AI crawlers stays Cannot tell.
How is it different from Shopify’s own readiness scanner?
On 1 October 2026 Shopify’s scanner checked structured data. This check also reads robots.txt for each AI crawler, the agent files and the UCP profile, policies and barcodes, which products direct checkout cannot sell, and whether your tags can see AI orders.
What happens to the address I type?
It goes to our server, which reads your public storefront and returns the rows. The result is kept in memory for 10 minutes. Nothing about the store is stored.
