Data, reconciliation & reportingClient work
Order-by-order reconciliation that separates lost tracking from attribution modelling — Shopify against Meta, Google Ads and Pinterest.
Sounds familiar?
How I solve it
I build an order-by-order reconciliation: every real order against what each platform claims, using the click signal stored on the order itself rather than a dashboard’s summary. Then I separate the two things that get mixed together: orders where the signal never arrived (a tracking loss, fixable) and orders where the platforms simply disagree about credit (attribution modelling, not a bug). Each gap is explained in writing, order by order, so the reconciliation can be checked instead of believed.
The process
6 steps. Scope and a fixed price are agreed before the first one.
From Shopify, including the click id and browser id written onto the order.
Meta, Google Ads and Pinterest through their APIs, not screenshots.
Match on the identifiers and the value, and mark the ones that do not join.
Separate tracking loss from attribution modelling — window length, view-through and credit rules.
Each gap gets a plain-language reason your finance lead can follow.
Daily reconciliation, upload alerts and a live read, so a drift is caught the same week it starts.

Before → after
Pinterest reported 289 conversions at its 7/1 window and 959 at 30/30 for the identical period and the identical events — the tracking never changed; the window did. Of the 289, 27 were verified Pinterest clicks and 262 were view-through. Read 2026-07-03.

What you can look at
A redrawn waterfall that takes one period’s Shopify orders and shows how each platform’s total is built, plus a redacted order-join table on synthetic data. Both are rebuilt for this page; the figures below are live reads.
Client details anonymised. Figures read from live platform APIs in June–September 2026.
Price and timeline
A one-store reconciliation is a Tracking Health Check: USD 395, read-only, with a written verdict two working days after the kickoff and confirmed access. Continuous daily reconciliation is Tracking Watch on a Technical Partnership at USD 1,000 per month, which includes the alerts and the live read.

A note from Daniilbefore you decide
If one platform is your single source of truth and it agrees with Shopify within the tolerance your finance lead accepts, a reconciliation adds little. And if the entire gap turns out to be attribution windows and view-through, I will tell you that plainly — that is modelling, not lost tracking, and no capture fix will move it.

Questions
Shopify's orders are the ground truth for what happened. The platforms are right about credit, within their own rules. The reconciliation shows both without pretending they are the same question.
Usually the attribution window and view-through, applied to the same events you sent once. Widening the window inflates the count without any change in tracking.
Read access to the platforms you want reconciled, plus Shopify. Read-only is enough for the audit.
Two working days after the kickoff and confirmed access for a Health Check; the daily watch starts once it is set up.
Yes. Daily reconciliation, upload alerts and a live report are the Tracking Watch part, on a monthly Technical Partnership.
