Runbooks and Training So Your Team Can Run Tracking Without Me

I document the checks, ownership and recovery steps your team needs, then work through them with the people who will run the system.

Describe my task

How I solve it

What I build

I build a runbook around the system your team actually runs. It covers normal checks, common failures, safe changes, rollback and escalation. I then rehearse the important paths with the people who will own them. Documentation is part of the work; I check whether someone can use it without me narrating every step.

The process

How it works

6 steps. Scope and a fixed price are agreed before the first one.

  1. Inventory the scoped event paths, destinations, access roles and owners.

  2. Agree the routine checks and what evidence counts as healthy delivery.

  3. Write short procedures for the failures your team is likely to encounter.

  4. Define which changes the team can make and which need an engineering review.

  5. Rehearse a synthetic failure and recovery in an agreed test environment.

  6. Revise the instructions from the rehearsal and hand over ownership and escalation contacts.

Handover

What you get

  • A runbook with named roles, checks and next actions.
  • A checklist for releases that can affect measurement.
  • A team walkthrough and a record of unresolved questions.
  • A documented escalation route for work that needs an engineer.

Built with

  • Your documentation workspace
  • an event map
  • an access-role inventory
  • delivery and reconciliation checks
  • synthetic training examples
  • rollback procedures
  • a rehearsal checklist

Proof

Client work Done for real clients. Client details are anonymised.

Before → after

Completed tracking-training work is the backing for the teaching part. The intended result of the full package is a team that can repeat routine checks and follow a recovery procedure. That independent operation is something to observe during the handover, not a past client outcome claimed on this page.

  • Tracking training

I have delivered training on analytics and tracking. The full runbook and recovery rehearsal described here are scoped separately.

What you can look at

A synthetic failed-delivery drill: detect the failure, find the relevant procedure, recover or escalate, and record the result. This is the proposed acceptance artefact for the handover.

The backing includes completed training engagements. A full team runbook handover and independent operation by a client team are not claimed as verified results here.

Price and timeline

What it costs and how it runs

A Technical Working Session is USD 195 for one question chosen in advance, up to 60 minutes, with a written summary. If the measurement itself is uncertain, a read-only Tracking Health Check is USD 395. A complete runbook, training materials and rehearsal are scoped and quoted separately.

A note from Daniilbefore you decide

When you don’t need this

If your team already has current procedures, clear ownership and tested recovery steps, keep them. If the system is broken, diagnose and repair it first; teaching people to repeat a broken setup is not a handover.

Questions

What people ask about this

Can one session document our whole system?

No. One session covers one question chosen in advance. A full inventory, runbook and rehearsal need an agreed scope of their own.

Will the team get production credentials in the document?

No. The runbook names roles and access requirements. Secrets stay in your approved credential system, outside the document and training examples.
