How I solve it

What I build

I build a small Shopify app around your real stock rules. It watches stock levels, forecasts a low-stock point from your own sales, drafts a purchase order, and emails the supplier — with a person approving the draft before anything is sent. Every run is recorded, so you can see what was proposed and what was done. It is built to your rules, not to a generic inventory template.

The process

How it works

6 steps. Scope and a fixed price are agreed before the first one.

  1. Write down the rules you run today: what triggers a reorder, in what quantity, from which supplier.

  2. Model stock and sales per product, with the exceptions you already know about.

  3. Build the forecast that raises a low-stock signal early enough to act.

  4. Draft a purchase order from the signal and send it for human approval.

  5. On approval, email the supplier and record the run and its outcome.

  6. Hand over the app with a short guide and a clean way to pause it.

What you get

A small Shopify app that watches stock against your rules, drafts purchase orders, and emails the supplier, with a human approval step and a run history. It fills the gap Stocky leaves without turning into an inventory suite you will not use.

Before → after

Before, a small warehouse ran on an Excel workbook with no single source of truth. After an immutable import, the file surfaced 142 anomalies and 49 ghost-stock candidates, and 0 stock postings were made without a document, built on 2026-07-16.

  • Club and school kit retailer

    repeat client

a collection availability scheduler running on the client's own app subdomain, plus Carrier Service rates, a countdown and order notes.

  • Grand Veil, made-to-order manufacturer

    production

stock reserve/consume/release and a purchasing domain built into the order-operations system, behind 2,650 unit, 239 integration and 155 acceptance tests.

  • Warehouse inventory MVP

    prototype

scan-first receiving, put-away, transfer, issue, returns and blind count, with 21/21 live acceptance tests; AI only creates claims, never stock postings.

What you can look at

I built an offline demo with synthetic data: sales velocity, low-stock signals and supplier purchase-order drafts with explicit local approval. You can read the demo repository on GitHub; it sends no emails and changes no stock.

Client details anonymised, except Grand Veil, named per the owner's decision. No country, bank, catalogue or order-volume figures. The demo runs on synthetic data. I am the founder of Fixel Pixel.

A Custom Engineering Project is scoped and quoted in writing after we agree the rules. The demo is built first so you can read the approach before committing.

A note from Daniilbefore you decide

When you don’t need this

If native Shopify inventory settings or an existing app already covers your reorder rules, keep them. A custom app is worth it only when your rules cannot be expressed in settings — mixed suppliers, collection-specific behaviour, or an approval step before a purchase order goes out. If your stock is small and stable, a spreadsheet and a calendar reminder are cheaper, and I will say so.

Questions

What people ask about this

Does this replace a full inventory system?

No. It replaces the specific rules Stocky held for you. If you need forecasting across channels and warehouses, that is a larger project and probably a different tool.

Can it send purchase orders without me?

It can be built to, but the default is a draft a person approves. Automatic sending is an option, not an assumption.

What if stock lives in Excel and Shopify?

That is normal. I start by reconciling the two, so the app watches one number instead of two.

How do you test something that touches real stock?

On a dev store with synthetic stock first, then a limited scope on the real store. Stock postings only happen through a document, so a mistake can be traced and reversed.
